... or rather wishful thinking ... never ever trusted polls, data and analysis ... would need time to uncover real trends.
I have long ago turned away from U.S. politics and the ugly bubble of Washington DC. Give me a break ... stop violence inside America and the foreign policy positioning of MAGA. Too stupid to be handled in a real world of Planet Earth. A runaway rain running on steam and coal ...
Columbia Economics Professor Jeffrey Sachs on President Trump's pressure on Canada | CNN interview |
Prof. Jeffrey Sachs discusses how the U.S. has amassed military capabilities for a massive war on Iran and communicates its clear intention. The Europeans continue to encourage U.S. warmongering and then have the audacity to complain when they themselves are the target.
Kallas and the broken record of complaints towards Russia and China … the Washington DC playbook … Biden’s war. So damn stupid … infantile.
EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas says Europe is no longer central to US priorities, warning of a historic shift in global power. Speaking at a major defence conference, she urged the bloc to strengthen its own military capabilities, reduce dependence on Washington, and adapt to changing geopolitical realities.

EPP punishes MEPs for failing to support Ursula von der Leyen | EurActiv |
The lawmakers will lose the right to lead work on fresh legislation
The centre-right European People’s Party in the European Parliament has imposed sanctions on more than ten of its MEPs, including its seven Hungarians, who refused to oppose a far-right bid to topple the European Commission.
As earlier reported by Euractiv, the group brought in new rules this week to penalise rebels just two days before a fresh motion of censure against the von der Leyen’s Commission was put to a vote in Strasbourg. The far-right Patriots for Europe spearheaded the no confidence motion, which was defeated by a wide margin last week.
For the next six months all the sanctioned MEPs will lose the right to lead the group’s work on new legislative files and non-legislative work, and to speak on behalf of the group in the plenary. It does not affect the legislative roles the MEPs already hold.
Most of the sanctioned lawmakers are from parties like Hungary’s TISZA, led by opposition figure Péter Magyar, for whom signs of public support for von der Leyen would play badly in their domestic politics.
Magyar himself is among those sanctioned because his contingent in Parliament failed to participate in the vote at all.
Dutch MEP Jessika van Leeuwen, from the Farmer-Citizen Movement party, the only EPP lawmaker who voted in favour of the motion of censure, was sanctioned. Sander Smit, from the same party, abstained and was sanctioned.
So were two Slovenians from Janez Janša’s party, Milan Zver and Branko Grims. Zver abstained, and Grims did not vote. Both doubled down on their stances in social media posts.
Zver posted the email he received informing him of the sanctions from Jeroen Lenaers, the group’s whip. Grims, a Slovenian MEP, also posted the email he received.
One EPP source said two Romanian MEPs from a Hungarian minority party, Vincze Loránt and Iuliu Winkler, were also sanctioned for their abstentions. They did not immediately reply to requests for comment.
Lenaers refused to comment.
An EPP group spokesperson said he would not comment on internal matters.
