I don't really feel competent, but put something together as a starting point for others to comment on.
Especially the second youtube clip needs further watching...

This has been brought up in the Salon, but I thought it was worth some further presentation, as the conclusion were presented rather skewed in the source provided. Also there was a rather heated discussion I gather on Burqa and what frenchness means etc.

We haven't had one of these in a while and since a certain momentous event further described below the fold - it might be - as an anti-metaphor and antithesis, to why I started the series also be the last.

In one of the recent energy diaries the 5MW Turbine came up. And since we are all a little bit of nerds, and I happen to be working for a company involved, here are some pictures, that I hope you will enjoy.
Warning, this is a picture heavy dairy, and might sound like a press --- release...

Unfortunately, I am not involved in the project, but anyhow...

Pope Benedict quotes an 600 year old document and gets into trouble.
I don't know why I want to defend this pope, but hey - I don't even know if I succeed.

I am in a fowl mood today. Wife 300 miles away and I am told my job will finish at the end of June. BASTARDS!
So, I am reading all these Diaries about divisive issues and that gets me thinking, and I have to agree with those that say, petrol tax is not really a problem, at least that can be discussed rationally. There are however aspects that are so divisive that it becomes funny again.

It was a long day for me but I am still at work research for a book, and I came across this:
Original embedded image got access-restricted, new copy hosted & inserted from NPPA: Best of Photojournalism 2006 by DoDo
and I though, ah yes, it is Friday, lets have some bridge blogging.
So your task, for this diary. Find bridges, that are award winning or aren't quite used in the way originally intendet.
And yes, The photo is copyrighted and by Jan Grarup, Denmark, Politiken/Rapho.
The title is:
Kashmir earthquake aftermath.
It was a People in the News: 2nd prize. And I stole it here

I don;t know if you are familiar with Ralk Koenig?
Famous gay comic in Germany - Der bewegte Mann.
Basicaly hardcore but loveable gay characters.
He has a comic strip out commenting on the controversy sourrounding the Mohammed comic strips.

Thanks to DowneastDem and his diary on pope benedict's thoughts about love and social justice
At first I only wanted to comment, but then the comment developed into a fuller parsing of the text, so I decided to make my own diary. I meant to read the enzyclica anyway, since I wanted to write about it in my Church Magazine that I edit (not available online!)
Then I started reading and after a while I got bored and ran out of time and decided that I would not finish and blog about it at all, but then Agnes made this diary and so I thought, I want to contribut as well, and got this out of hiding
So here goes.

I love Market research. i financed parts of my degree with being a guinea pig and pretending to be a heavy smoker, who had just had a dental operation so I could not smoke during the interview (I hate smoking) - So yes, I am highly cynical about Market research, but I don;t bypass a chance to tick boxes and confuse them... O.k I know enough about statistics that the outliers are usually eliminated, but still, it pays for the sandwich.

Apologies to everybody that thinks I am going to talk about windtubines, no,I came across this windmill and I thought that might amuse some people. And since I like strange buildings and unusual designs....
Not, that I can tell you much about them, but here is a special mill.

This TBB will be another trip down parallel lines. No, not railway lines. Parrallel, as such, as it starts with an image of a bridge

but continues quite different after the fold.
